Experience
Dr. Zalamea is a native of Memphis, TN. He joined Radiology of Huntsville in July 2008 following completion of his B.S. from the University of Notre Dame in 1997, M.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2002, Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis in 2007 (Chief Resident) and Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship at Wake Forest University in 2008. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Certification Board of Cardiovascular CT, and Certification Board of Cardiovascular MRI. He is a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Cardiovascular CT, Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, Society of Thoracic Radiology and other professional organizations. Dr. Zalamea is a Level 3 instructor in both cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. He has received the Certificate of Advanced Proficiency in Cardiovascular CT from the American College of Radiology and Fellow status from the Society of Cardiovascular CT and Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Additionally, he holds interests in interstitial lung disease as well as lung cancer staging and screening.
