Dr. Tomalty received a B.S. in Biochemistry and his M.D. at the University of Western Ontario, graduating cum laude. He received numerous honors and awards during his academic career. He completed a residency in radiology at University of Alberta, Canada in 1995. Dr. Tomalty then completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of Nebraska. He did neurointerventional training at the University of Upsalla Sweden. Dr. Tomalty developed the Interventional Radiology service at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada from 1996 -2000. Immediately prior to joining Radiology of Huntsville in 2006, Dr. Tomalty served as Chair of the Department of Radiology at Shaikh Khalifa Medical Center, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He has been published in several journals and has given numerous professional presentations and invited lectures. He is certified in diagnostic radiology by both the Canadian and American Boards of Radiology. He served as an examiner for the Canadian Board of Radiology from 1998-2001.
